Membership Application Process (SA)

General:

​

 

All genuine people with genuine grades and pursuits can contact / email Mornè Slabbert Sensei should they be interested in becoming a member of the Kokusai Kenyukan Kai Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate - Kobudo in South Africa. We have various Levels of Affiliation and we cater for most situations. Whether you have left your existing School, running one on your own or looking forward to starting a new Dojo, we have the Affiliation and the expertise to guide you into a new dimension of training. We are here to find solutions and compromise without the stigma of contracts.

 

We accept all genuine people, with genuine grades and genuine pursuits, but not those who seek a quick promotion and a false sense of grandeur because of a piece of paper. Our Association will endure and will grow over time because of our commitment to self reliance, friendship and loyalty to our membership, and because as a group we are not looking at who is the biggest, best or who owns the nicest dojo... we are looking at who is prepared to work and accept common goals to achieve results, not glory! 

 

We are not a Diploma mill and we will not give away Rank or sell it. Ranks can only be earned through hard work and proper testing.

Requirements (Instructors / Club Registration):

​

 

 

  1. Must have a Goju Ryu Karate lineage

  2. Certified certification from a Goju Ryu recognised group only

  3. References letter from previous Instructor / Employer / or anyone else other than a family member

  4. Impeccable Police record / Police clearance is required

  5. Brief Martial Arts CV

  6. Demonstrate teaching activities to date

  7. Willingness to work towards the enrichment of the Arts

  8. Prepared to travel or invite to travel (Where possible)

  9. Must be a Traditionalist

  10. Willing to represent, support and promote Kokusai Kenyukan Kai Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate & Kobudo in South Africa

  10. We do not interference in the running of your club/Dojo but are always there if needed

  11. Members will always help and assist each other wherever possible due to their commitment to Self-Reliance, friendship and Loyalty to their Membership.

  12. We don’t look at who is the biggest, best or who owns the nicest dojo...We are looking at who is prepared to work and accept common goals to achieve results, not glory

  13. Opportunity to attend national and international seminars and tournaments as representatives of our Assosiation

Registration Process:

​

 

 

  1. Forward Kokusai Kenyukan Kai Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate & Kobudo an Email requesting a registration document

  2. We will forward through aditional documentation for review and completion

  3. Email the registration document once completed together with all required information through to us for review

  4. We will advise once the preliminary approval has been completed

  5. All documentation will also need to physically be forwarded through to us (Rank certification must be certified)

  6. You will advised in writing once the Instructors / Clubs registration has been approved​
