Morne Slabbert

 

Mornè Slabbert Sensei was born on the 3rd of September 1971 and first started training Karate in 1984. He also did Gymnastics on a Provincial level until 1991. Sensei Mornè was graded to a 4th Dan Internationally under the World Koryu Sansei Goju Ryu Karatedo in Miami during July / August 2009.

Mornè Slabbert Sensei received his 4th Dan Menkyo (license to teach / traditional teacher’s license) in Art the Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate from Soshi Alexander de Araya on the 1st of January 2014. Sensei Mornè was promoted to 5th Dan on the 1st of January 2019. Sensei Mornè is currently the Secretary General and African Director of the Kokusai Kenyukan Kai Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate & Kobudo under the Wold Founder & Head: Sensei Alexander de Araya, Soshi 8th Dan Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate, 5th Dan Kobudo & 2nd Dan Aikijutsu.

Sensei Mornè established the Sun City Resort Goju Ryu Karate Dojo (Trinity Goju Ryu Karate Club) on the 1st of February 2002 and taught there until he moved away from the Sun City Resort on the 31st of October 2018. The Sun City Karate Club was handed over to Sempai Phetolo Mtlala one of Sensei Morne's Senior Students. 

Sensei Mornè  accepted a position with the Premier Hotel Group and moved to East London in the Eastern Cape on the 1st of November 2018 and currently teachers from his home Dojo in Kaysers Beach where he now lives.
